I have just conceded to Virgin pressure and cancelled my contract with them and will be disposing of my eurovox box. As a result they want their box back. Unfortunatelly I have got it mixed up with an old modified box, I have had for some time, but no longer use. They are both silver boxes.
So i don't give them the wrong box back can someone please tell me how i can tell which is the modified box?

    Ta.

Thanks for moving the thread. I wasn't sure of the best place to ask this.
Can you tell me where you have moved it to please?

Would rather not blow it up. Is there an easy way to tell which is which? I am desperate. Please help.

The boxes are Samsung silver colour boxes.
If I open them up will I be able to see the obvious moddified one? What am I looking for?

    Please help.

Do they have model numbers on them? Maybe one has a newer serial number than the other?

After some research I have found out the following to try -

Power up box with feed connected
wait for about 5 minutes (I find it takes 5ins or longer before it shows if return path is on)
    Press settings on remote
    scroll to "Technical stuff"
Check your DHCP Status, if off the box has been modified, if on the box has not been modified.

If both still say "Return path is off" then leave connected for a little longer before checking "DHCP status" untill you see "Return path is on", that will be your subbed box.

However some peps out there dont even mod the box, they just mod the card & dont bother cutting talkback.

I have tried this and it seems to work. The modified box DHCP Status was off and the unmodified box was on.
I also noticed that the modified box had a flashing geen icon on the front display where as the unmodified box had a steady green light.
