    Hi

I am about to take the plunge and get myself one of these cable boxes, but considering the various types out there was wondering if you guys could make some recommendations.

I was going to get a kryptview a while back, but haivn gseent he eurovox models i'd rather get some feedback. Ideally i want one that will be the easiset to setup and update and gives a decent picture - not too fussed about pvr stuff.

    Any help would be great.

I recommend the dm500c but thats a personal preference.

if your not interested in hard drives etc. This is a good box.

Where are you based, you definitely have true cable and not mmds?

If you have true cable, it depends on your personal preference really.

i say the starview 2 the box ,u can get it in pvr or not the box is the best out of them all ,if u have a playstaion 3 you dont need to buy a pvr box because sony play tv is comming out it turns your ps3 into a pvr box and its only 70 pounds .

Who are your service provider? If it's s*y there's no point in getting any box as they don't work with s*y.

Most of the boxes are fine, i like the Replay Lite, it's very small and easy to use. The Starviews are very popular too, although some people would recommend u get a new linux based box as they are more likely to be able to handle future upgrades. They are a bit more complicated though.

Has anyone tried the starview 4?

Was thinking of updating my original starview to a starview 3, or should I go for 4?

Does epg work any better on 3?

the SV4 was only released so it would be hard to comment, but it offers better options than the SV3

Epg is very fast on sv3, and progs are sorted after rescan in Nteehell order...worth it.
