Found the info I needed on another thread I'm now one step closer to my first flash.

    START
    Right Click "MY COMPUTER"
    Choose "MANAGE"
In the resulting window, click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
In the right hand pane, click on the little plus sign beside "PORTS" in the right hand pane.
Right click on the USB Adapter (Should be something like "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm. Port (COM#)
    Choose "Properties"
    Click on "PORT SETTINGS" TAB
    Click on "ADVANCED"
Then you will see the COM Port Number Box. You should be able to change it there using the drop down box.
Try to set it to COM2
This worked great,I have paste's it above so it might help some one else who may come across the same problem

Sure will let you know, but Im still reading up on it,there is a few things I don't quite understand yet.like when you click on the link in st elmos library for the box super fix about six items appear,do you download all of theses? so I'm still reading up, not wanting to make a move till I fully understand what I'm doing but what ever I learn I shall post it here.

If you`re in the uk, click on the "B0x Super uk fix"
Use the GTRom Super 8[1].02e_081129 zip

For Ireland use the 7.09e Beta

I have gone and done it, and every thing seems ok,after flashing I connected the box back up to the TV, I did not need to go back to factory settings as it was working perfectly,I suppose I will half to wait till another roll over to find out if the fix has worked, but I was surprised how well it went, and its all thanks to the people of this site,I really did not have a clue how to go about it and I in turn will pass on what ever info I have learned here, big thanks to all
