Hello all, I want to make a movie and I was wondering if anyone out there is using a digital camocorder to make a movie and if so, which one is the best? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Well this all depends on what type of quality you are looking for and for what price range. Please Elaborate.

I guess a camcorder along the price range of 2000-3000? Picture quality like that of open water is okay i guess. I dont expect great quality from a nonprofessional camcorder.

Wow...2000-3000? You can sure get a more than decent camcorder for that kind of money. You can go for a model like the Sony HDR-HC1 HDV for that: HD and 3CCD. Or the Panasonic AG-DVC30. But have you checked current quality of consumer level camcorders in the $500 range? They're pretty good already...

^ The sony hc-1 uses cmos, not 3ccd. It's better than a 3ccd and definantly would be my pick for a camcorder in the 1500-2000 range, if you want to hit up 3000 than look for the Sony HDR-FX1

Im a Sony PD170 fan. Because they are not quite state of the art with the new High Definition models coming out now, maybe you can find a deal. Be very careful buying used. Thoroughly test drive first. Heilung
