get the lite-on its the only reliable name in the bunch... backing up ps2 games is not hardware related... its modding your ps2 to play them and using 1:1 burning software such as NERO or ALCOHOL 120%.

i would go with the riteks from this site

    http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_...opup2[]=0&lo_p=0&hi_p=0&form_keyword=&sortby=

you can get a flip top and swap magic disks which do require that you swap the case but you do not have to unconnect or mess with the ps2 just take off the case and put this new one with a flip hole on and then you can swap your games in and out with backups... you can get them here

not sure about the shipping on that though sorry

You should also look at the New Sony Dual layer burner, that ships with the latest Nero software.
This does it all, no shrinking files sizes at all,and is great for ps2 backups.
The liteon brand is actually a cheap version of Sony, made by them for the lower price market.
You can get the Sony for AUS $200. here in Australia

    Hi,

One factor to consider with dual layer burners is that the media is horrendously expensive so unless you can afford $15 per disc the usefulness of DL will be moot.

Are you saying Lite Ons are made by Sony? Lite On makes their own drives :)
