Just wondering, because I've heard Shoey uses Cinema Craft encoder, while I use TMPGEnc. I was just wondering if there is any benifet over one or the other. I love this DVD2SVCD app btw, good stuff.

CCE SP is the best encoder you can buy. Besides giving you higher quality, it's also much faster, but since it costs $2000 it's not likely you can afford it. CCE Basic is almost as good as SP (and only $58), but unless things have changed recently, it won't work with DVD2SVCD.

CCE SP is very hard to use by it"s self as you generally have to use a frameserver with it so it is more for poeple with a fairly advanced knowlege of Digital video, but once you learn how to use it with AVISynth you can get increadable results in a very short time...CCE SP is also extremely good at encodeing useing Very low Bitrates...I encoded a 3.5 hour movie to Mpeg2 for DVD useing CCE useing a Bitrate of only 2750kbs and a 3 pass encode and the Quality was Great, better than I could have done useing a different encoder useing Twice that bitrate..It is truely an awesome encoder one you learn to use it properly......Cheers
