Pretty much every single game since March 2009.

I think most (don't quote me) new games are wave 3, it's basically a new security feature to try and stop modded consoles, it didn't really work. From the top of my head UFC Undisputed is wave 3, nobody knows about NCAA 10 yet. If you have ixtreme 1.51+ you will be fine.

Yes, latest firmware for hitachi is 1.51, 1.6 should be out soon though (just a guess, may be another year, or tomorrow).

I have a Lite-On with iXtreme 1.51 that I have been playing backups on for about 4 months. Before that my console had a BenQ drive which had iXtreme 1.4/iXtreme 1.5 and I used backups on it for about 5 or 6 months. It got E74 so I sent it in for repair, which resulted in getting the Lite-On drive. Within the 2 weeks my console was gone for repair the Wave 3 games hit, so my Lite-On has only had iXtreme 1.51 on it.

If you ad all that up, it will soon be a year since I have been playing backups. As for problems, such as the DVD Drive breaking, errors, ect. I have had none... Except for the E74 but that was not caused by flashing. As for banning, I have never been banned. Nobody can be 100% safe from getting banned, we just don't know exactly how Microsoft detects backups/modded consoles. There are things you can do to make yourself as safe as possible.

If you download a game, make sure you run it through ABGX360 v1.0.1 with Autofix Level 3 on to ensure that you have a stealth patched .ISO before you burn it.

If you make the backup yourself, using a Kreon Drive, a 360 008 Drive, or however you please... DO NOT set the Autofix in ABGX360. Yes, it is okay to run the .ISO through ABGX360 to make sure everything was ripped correctly, but make sure the Autofix is turned off. You have made the backup yourself and know that it is from an original, so you don't want ABGX360 to patch it.

DO NOT patch a 3rd Wave game to play on FW lower that iXtreme 1.51, that is asking for a beating from the banhammer. It is best to just update your iXtreme FW whenever needed.

If a game is not stealth patched, do not even put it in your 360. It doesn't matter if you are connected to XBL or not, if you want to be as safe as possible make sure the game is 100% stealth patched before playing it.

Doing these things will make you as safe as you can possibly be, but won't put a magic shield around your 360 that turns the banhammer into dust. Best thing to do, is make sure that your games are stealth patched, and don't break into a sweat and hyperventilate every time you play a backup. Use your imagination, pretend it is an original game, and don't worry about it. As long as they are stealth patched, you are good to go.

    Hope this helps!

thanks man. i usually buy broken xbox's for cheap and fix them myself (great skill to have!) and if it gets banned its not as big of a hassle to me as someone who pays 300 for a brand new one each time. But thanks for the tips. I'm also worried my DVD burner wont do a good job. I have a Lite-on Dual Layer dvd burner that i bought months ago, just never got around to burning 360 games.

Wrong. Wave 3 just means that the disc contains the NXE update. iXtreme was not compatible with this so they had to release new versions to support it.

just a couple off the top of my head...we need a sticky for this that lists the games in a organized fashion...if it gets to the point where every game has this wave 3 technology of course this sticky would be useless BUT I know for a fact that not ALL games being released are loaded with this wave 3

Even know Wave 3 is for NXE, I think that Microsoft had it on their mind to try and stop modders.

No, they added NXE to the game so it made a different CRC for the video partition. iXtreme checks all those CRCs so that is why the game wouldn't boot.

Now NXE did probably blow some eFuses when the consoles was updated so in that since you would probably be correct on stopping people from downgrading the kernel.
