which is faster and better?

    The Athlon is better stay away from celeron.

    As a rule of thumb, AMD beats the crap out of Intel almost every time at almost every category. Go with the AMD.

    I would normally agree but when your talking bout a celeron and AMD. AMD Wins hands down. Its a better chipset regardless.

    These days, Intel is beating the crap out of AMD...depends on which month.

    just the highend Intel core is. the Conroe

    AMD has the bigger market share on the mid-end cores plus they had a recent price drop making there cores the best deal out there.

    they will have that Conroe beat early 2007

    just hope to god that your AMD cooling system will never go out.

    redwash1, i dont use the AMD cooling system (read my PC specs.) i use the Zalman 9500 cooler

    Indeed, the Conroe series might be higher end than the current AMD, but that will soon change...
    Anyways, i have to agree with aabbccd, AMD coolers are rubbish, i always immediately replace them with Zalman or Coolermaster *depending on availability and socket AM2 compatibility*.
