I have benq1640, but it only let me burn at 4x everytime i burn an 8x media? anyone know why? and when i burn is buffer 85-90. Anything wrong with that???

Hey gang ! I am planning to get a BENQ DW 1640 From Newegg ! But am unsure what the best price is ? It seems a little high now About $49.99 or so what did the few of you that bought Benq DW 1640's pay when you bought them and what are your experiences with them? From what I have read about the Benq drives in general here at afterdawn.com it seems that overall the impression is good! I am buying it to replace my Nec 2500A - nothing wrong with it for an 8 X drive but cannot booktype with it and unfortunately when I bought it I overpaid for it and got stuck with the biege/off white version & my computer is Silver & Black (Emachines) so really would prefer a Black one . Also what are your opinions on the BENQ'S solidburn technology does it really help alot or is it mainly just a gimmick? Well sorry to monoplize you time gentleman & or ladies too ! I paid $38 including shipping on mine in a weekend special.Just bare drive only.Didn't even have the original box! Works perfect. Dowload the latest update/q-suite/and away you go. The 1620s came with beige and black bezels with the drive. The 1640 doesn't have that option. Silver/black/and beige are available. I have an outside flipdown cover on my tower so color didn't matter. Should be able to get for $42-$44 including fed ex. Edit: Superb scans on Yuden000-T02/MCC-004. The faster 8x and 12x burns scan way better than the 2.4x and 4x! These booktyped backups will play in everything my 1620s did.
I paid around $42.00 for my 1st 1640.I liked it so well I bought 3 more when newegg had them $38.99 with free shipping.
