Ok well my 60gig kicked the bucket...well i should say spilt the glass. It works fine but doesnt read any sort of disc anymore. Warranty is up so i opened it and tried to clean the inside and whatnot but didnt help so im going to get a new laser and deck. BUT i there are about 4 different models out to get and I dont want to waste money getting the wrong model. Mine is a single laser off a 60gb made Mar 07. I want the latest version of the laser for the drive but I want it to be compatible. So any insight? Ive done some searching and all i find is questions but no answers. So can i get the KEM-410ACA which is Double Laser? or do i have to stick with the stock KEM-400AAA? then there is at the KES-400AAA and KES-410A....sigh....Im so confused. I need help
The 410 and 400 are not interchangeable (unfortunately). Are you getting a whole deck with worm drive or just the laser? They have similar part numbers (one has the AAA, the other has just an A, the 410 and 400 are the important parts).
replacing the entire assembly. I dont want to take any chances on getting only the laser and it still not working. so KEM-400AAA it is i suppose.
