I'm starting to do a lot of video recording with my camera, which I need to store to eventually use in a sort of multimedia report/study thing. Anyway, the point is, my camera creates huge AVI files (about 33MB per minute), which I want to reduce by about 5:1 if possible. I thought I might be able to find a good lossless codec for this, but neither MSU, Lagarith nor Huffyuv are any help at all -- they make the videos larger!

I'm pretty dure DivX is the way to go, but I don't want that little watermark at the bottom right. Should I try XviD? What would you recommend?

Sounds like you have DV which is lossy already and why the lossless files end up larger.

The DivX logo should be a result of their decoder only, which can be disabled and isn't actually part of the video.
