It appears my friends that The Taiyo Yuden Made Verbatims are Somewhat like the Story about Blue Food ! By Comedian George Carlin ! " Hey like why isn't there any blue fooD? well okay Blueberries maybe , a mint maybe a sour ball candy ! Ouch ! that ain't a sourball that's a damn! marble LOL! Blue food must be something extremely rare with strange magical powers - Maybe it bestows eternal life ? Where's the Blue Food ? we want The Blue Food ! Maybe The Taiyo Yuden Made Verbatims Are Like that ? Maybe not ? But for most of us outside the UK they apparently are ! Go get 'Em Creaky ! " WE WANT THE BLUE FOOD" CIAO!
so the mij type verbs are not available here in the states? i was wondering that? cause i cant find them anywhere. just mit....thought i was loseing my mind looking for them i cant find anything MIJ just MIT.
nope, they're not in the states yet (don't know if you'll even get them at all). over here in UK we can't get them for love nor money. We did have some new-fangled Panasonic TY over here but can't get them either (i didn't even get a look-in on any of those). i've used 'normal' TY before but i just don't like the shiny top of the discs, they get very grubby even with careful handling and clean hands
so creaky you dont recomend putting a movie disc cover over top of the blank after being burned? and is there a quality differance useing 16x disc as to a 8x disc?
i can't help you re printing on discs etc, i'm only into using a sharpie to write on them so know very little about printing on them or stuff like that. as to 16x discs i'd only used a tub of them (MCC004 i think they were) on my previous burner with 100% success, and the 500 MCC004 discs i've just bought i guess i'll use at 8x quite happily. i dunno if there'll be any quality difference in 16x discs over 8x personally
i just got 50 verbatim 16x. i know people have said to burn at half the speed. is that the speed of the blank or the speed of the burner?i have been burning at half the speed of my burner which when i used 8x disc that would be the max for that disc. should i try half the disc speed. since i have started useing anydvd and clonedvd i have only had 1 small mistake with a movie.(crash) ate the 13:14 mark had a slight skip in it. i did reburn it at 2.4x and is perfect.
someone mention bitset. does anyone have a thread on how to do that? i might wanna try this.allways wanting to learn something new. is it a hard process? is there certain software needed to do it? i currently have dvdfab-decrypter anydvd clonedvd nero dvd shrink...
here's an example thread re bitsetting (also known as booktyping) - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/308455 it basically sets a +R disc (you can't do it with -R) to dvd-rom format, in effect fooling standalone dvd players to thinking they're playing a normal shop-bought dvd film. not sure if your burner supports bitsetting though, will have to check.. as to the speed of the disc, half the speed of a disc's speed rating is a good rule of thumb, though i personally would be wary of discs burnt at above 8x. i burn so much stuff before watching/checking them that it would be a lot of wasted time & money to have to redo stuff if it wasn't burnt correctly. i've just finished quite a few days of re-ripping about 100s of my films from originals as i had a shedload of crappy fake media in my collection that's been bugging me for far too long.
ty creaky your the greatest have helped me out alot this morning. got a bit a work to do gotta check up on that booktypeing. thank you again. just found a site to get MIJ TY's $95 for a 300 disc
