Which media is better? Maxell DVD-R's or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's? For PS2.

I really need to know, my decision might come to an end by the shipping price or the comments i get here. Im leaning towards maxell since they're rated higher on the dvd media FAQ and newegg's shipping for them is cheap. The sites that sell TY's are gonna take 5 days to get to me and charge a LOT for shipping, $7 for ground, 3-5 buisness days...

    hi again,

well, i don't own a PS2, but from just a solely MEDIA standpoint, you can't go wrong with the BEST in the BUSINESS...Taiyo Yuden media :)

i am in no way saying Maxell's own manufactured by Hitachi MADE IN JAPAN are bad, they are excellent media; however, don't believe everything you read on some media FAQ, do you know how outdated some of those lists are? and how biased SOME of the media rankings are there?

anyways, use your best judgement when purchasing media and USE what works for YOUR own individual setup. i noticed you seem to be "nickel & diming" your purchases to save what comes down to a few dollars, hey, if that's your perogative, i have NO RIGHT to argue with you, it's YOUR money, only YOU can decide how to spend it~

i would recommend going with the Taiyo Yudens, but i have also had a LOT of success with the Maxells own coded media as well as the Ritek media they use in their "made in taiwan" stuff. if the decision comes down to "who has cheaper shipping" then at least you are going with 2 good medias, and you are not deciding between memorex, hp, philips, and crappy TDK. :) (ALL of which use CMC MAG as their manufacturer on various rated speed and format, then THAT is a real toss up and u are taking a gamble)

    good luck

    docTY

Actually, it wasnt the shipping price, but rather the shipping time, i just cant wait 5 buisness days for my TY's to come.

I think ill buy TY's now, either the 8x 17.50 ones with $10 3 day shipping or the 16x ones with $5 ground shipping, i think itll be the 16x ones. Alright, thnx, im gonna buy a 50pack of genuine 16x TY's today at rima, i guess i can wait 5 days...
