i have recently been interested in getting a mod chip for my ps2 so i have been looking around on the internet and i have found a few sites that look promising, http://eu.mod-chip.com/ for instance but they have so many on offer like non-soldering kits and soldering kits im totally confused about what to get. i dont really want to do any soldering but i will if thats what i need to do to get one that actually works right. i was interested in the DMS E.Z.I lite/pro thing but is that a good buy?? as far as i know im using a V7 console. please help!

You might want to do your homework on the E.Z.I models. A lot of people do not like them, and for good reasons. They dont work well, can damage/kill your mobo...etc. Check out http://www.ps2-scene.org , there is a long ongoing post about this problem.
