After doing around two days worth of research, I decided that I will mod my PSTWO (slim).
I'm against sending my PSTWO thru the mail...so modchips are out of the question. That narrows it down to either
Swap Magic w/ flip top OR using an USB hard drive.....

My first question is...What is the difference between a HDLoader, HDCONNECT and a USBExtreme?

My second question is....Which do u guys think would be the better choice? Swap Magic or USB HDD

Price / gameplay wise.......Here are a few things i could think up of
Swap Magic needs a DVD burner, Quality DVD CD's and Flip top / Swap Magic discs
I'm not sure what USB Extreme needs but i'm guessing External hard disk (probably could use an enclosure), USBExtreme?, HDloader?

I'm leaning towards the USB HDD because I save money on buying a DVD burner, buying new DVD CD's, saves me the trouble of swaping CD, saves laser from wear and tear and it greatly reduces load time.
My main problem is i'm not sure what items I need to make it work.

Last question is : I know that you could rebuild a DVD-9 / dual-layer games if i get Swap Magic....Is this the same for the USB HDD?

Can anyone think of some more pro's / cons for each options?
    Thanks!

USB Extreme/Advance isn't compatible with a lot of games, not nearly as many as HD Advance/HD Loader. Your best bet is to get a chip. If you send it to a reputable modder listed in my FAQ, there's no danger of any mishaps. Further, if you purchase insurance when sending it off, what do you have to worry about? Insurance is like an extra $3, certainly not going to break the bank. Read my modchip FAQ for more info. It's in my sig and at top of these forums.

. Personally having used swap magic and then MI chip, I wouldn't bother with the swap discs.
They do work okay, but are a pain compared to just sticking the backup in and playing.
Posting won't be a problem if you use premium delivery such as Royal Mail special or equivalent for your country.
I've sent 3 through the post this way and have never had one problem.
As for swap magic disks, you then need a flip lid which will invalidate any warranty as the case needs opening.

getting it chipped is highly recommended. i think there are many reputable modders on the net which you can consider. it really beats swapping if you like to change games every 5-10mins like i do lol.

I think you meant to say the former (MI) BigDK, but you're a 100% right. Personally I've never used Swap Magic, and with the success I've had my with my MI, I'd never want to.

I got the Swap Magic and its a pain in the butt. My laser is so f'd up I have to adjust it everytime to get it to read the SM3.6. And lately it hasn't been working at all. Read Tokijin's sticky. I wish I had that info before I got the SM. GL

    BTW Great sticky Tokijin

Yes MI=Matrix Infinity. I type it so much I abbreviate it when I can. Thank you very much for the kind words pmaknelho, glad you found it useful. Cheers!
