glad you enjoy your Xbox. Once you figure out all of the things you can do with it, other than just play games, you will enjoy it even more. I did not want to sound like the PS2 is not a good system, because it is. BUt like above, having to run all of those seperate programs to FTP, play movies and music and all that is just too much of a hassle for me. My Xbox does it all just by turning it on, everything i need is already there.

No need to be hostile just because everyone disagrees with your OPINION. You love your PS2, good for you fanboy.

LOL your so easy to crack, but really who cares about your Xbox posts, the question never pertained to that. If anything you show your "fanboy" nature here with your continual "Xbox is better then PS2" ass kissing hahaha.

Anyway this thread is old news and keeps getting brought back up just cuz a few like to stir up trouble, which I must agree is very enjoyable to do from time to time as well, especially when you pop off like a firecracker for no good reason.

I will now go back to reseting my PS2 ... damn what a hassel.

PROBLEMS, last you checked. Try reading the full thread and you will see where Xbox came into the conversation.

"ya they have the off brand ps2 network adapters on ebay for 30 dollars cheaper than the official ones.would i be better off modding a xbox? sopposedly less hasle"

and as for ps2modgod, all you do is come in here quoting posts and adding smart remarks trying to start things. I on the other hand was here for thread 1 trying to help someone.

    afterdawn.com / forums / ps2 - hardware boot discussion / which ps2 to mod? /

thats what it says for me

Oh yeah thats right your the afterdawn savior, I keep forgetting that. As I have stated before (and will do once again) You are the only one that takes offense to these posts. Why.... I don't know, maybe your insecure?

The fact here is that the original question had nothing to do with the Xbox. All I have done is to bring to light that you can do everything the Xbox can with your PS2 and the ONLY thing the Xbox does better is emus.

Dont try and label me a "fanboy" as I also have an Xbox that gets used equally as much as the PS2. XBMC is an amazing work of homebrew coding. But for the people that don't realize the PS2 has all the same capability's .. they are of course done in a much different manner then the Xbox as they are worlds apart in the complexity of there coding base (the xbox being childes play compared to the PS2). Why me bringing this info to this thread would offend anyone is beyond me. Maybe you think I'm leaching off your l33t facade that you may believe you possess here at AD. Keep in mind this is a diverse forum unlike TM where you all pat yourselves on the back with every righteous post.

So to hopefully put an end to this childishness maybe we should keep on topic. This has basically turned into an Xbox vs. PS2 thread when that was never the intent.

So here I wil start that off....

Did you know that with a modchip like the CC2.0 SLE you can reboot the PS2 with the In Game Rest (IGR) feature so you don't even have to get off your lazy ass to hit reset in order to boot a different app/game? Amazing!!!!

Oh yeah and Steimy aways remember ..... HAVE FUN!!

Everyone loves the box! Just wanted to add a little piece of advice: It's very easy to upgrade the XBOX harddrive, but be careful with a softmod. The harddrive has to be locked or no dashboard will boot. And if you do replace the stock HDD, unlock it first so your PC/PS2/whatever can use it.

It's kind of silly to say the Xbox is better than the PS2, or vice versa. Each has their own strengths and are very complimentary.

The Xbox as a media center (running XBMC) is far and away better than the PS2 for the same purpose. As the Xbox is a more powerful system, it is much more capable to stream music/movies/etc from a PC. Plus, it is much more user friendly than anything the PS2 has to offer. Everyone who uses my Xbox running the blade skin on XBMC always raves about how cool it is.

The PS2 running HD Loader or Toxic OS is great for playing games such as God of War II, that the XBox doesn't have. You simply cannot beat the library of games available on the PS2.

I have both systems, one plays games, the other acts as a media center for movies and playing emulators.

Anyway stop this Xbox vs PS2 debate of which is the better console because the problem of the maker of this thread who came to ask for help has been solved. If you want to debate about the feats of both consoles just make a new thread...

    ponyetr,
skip the messiah chip. If you want a cheap stable chip get a Duo3 Gold.

For a hard drive (on the older fat model) all you need is a compatible drive (internal all the way, IDE style only), the network adapter, and either a higher end chip that can run it (Crystal Chip V2.0 or DMS4 Pro SE) or a disc called HD Advanced.

look, ps2modgod and i just differ on our opinions, no reason for everyone to get hostile.

Does the Duo 3 Gold support Dev 1/2? I'd just rather spend $20 and boot HDLoader from a mem card than have to spend $30 - $40 just to use a HDD. The exploit works fine for now, but I'm definitely looking for a cheap and reliable chip.
