which type of dvd to use?

    I'm trying to copy a vcd to a dvd but dont know which type of dvd to purchase i.e. dvd+r,dvd-r etc etc. can someone clarify this for me?

    Well I prefer DVD-R, but basically you should check to see if your DVD Player supports + or - before you buy either. Also you should check if the player will play MPEG-1 Video on DVD, which it definately should!

    As for the media, try to avoid very cheap media. Go to websites like http://www.bigpockets.co.uk and check which DVD's seem to be the most high priced. However, it will take time for you to settle with a certain media but thats the same with everyone. I use ritek DVD's along with a LOT of other people, they give me no trouble so I'm happy.

    There is not a very big different BTW between DVD-R and DVD+R, well not at least to us consumers. DVD+R is seen to be kind of like, a little more complex than DVD-R but DVD-R always seems to be more compatible with DVD Players!
