I am looking at purchasing a wireless keyboard and mouse as my computer will be approximately 12 feet away. I have read up about them and have narrowed it down to two. The first is a Kensington Pilotboard Laser 2.4 ghz RF Wireless Technology (Model No: 64385) which states it will work up to 9.14 metres. This set also comes with a 6 button ergonomic shape mouse. The second is the Belkin Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard and Mouse (Model No: F8T042ukB) which will work up to 10 metres away and comes with a 3 button mouse. Does anyone know which is a better signal, RF or Bluetooth ?? If there are any other suggestions as to a good quality set which will work without a hitch from 12 feet away then please let me know.
Blue-tooth may get you a better signal but it really depends on manufacturer.... Not sure what the models you are relating to but i would always recommend high end manufacturers like logitech and Microsoft, don't always go for cheap stuff... *Personally* i would spend £60 - £80 on a wireless keyboard and mouse for quality ; )
Bluetooth is prefered for wireless computering over 10ft. But, bluetooth lags pretty badly at times and isn't suggested for gaming. If you're using the computer for presentations or as a media player/HTPC, bluetooth is perfect. I'd suggest the Logitech MX5000 BT combo.
Thanks folks !! I did look at the Logitech MX5000 but it had mixed reviews from people on a website I visited, although every persons needs are different. I'll have another surf of the internet.
