White bar when captured from DVD source using GeForce4 4200

    I have a DVD player for my home theater system. I tried to capture a movie using my Gainward Geforce4 4200 ViVo capabilities. I used an S-video connector from the DVD player to the Source in of the video card and connected the sound out to the line in on my motherboard. I got good sound and I could watch the movie just fine on my monitor. The problem is that the captured video has a white bar across the screen(covers the mid half of the screen). Can anyone tell me what the problem is? I tried several diffenent capture programs and all gave the same problem.
    System specs:
    AMD 1700 XP
    256 meg PC2700 ram
    40 gig maxtor hard drive(35 gig free)
    Gainward 4200 golden sample video card
    Abit AT7 motherboard

    It's macrovision. Use Tvtool. Search the message board for its URL.
