I got a 4gb MP3 player no brand from eBay for $20. It was made and shipped from Hong Kong. It works fine, except the battery lasts about 4-6 hours. I got FM, no AM, photo view but low res. I see 4gb ipods going for $89. I dont get why. It does have a wheel, but you have to press the buttons. Besides that, I see no significant difference between it and iPods with fancy graphics, bells&whistles. Why would you view movies or photos on those small low res LCDs? What's all the gaga about podcasts? I have a FM/AM/SW radio, and have a camera, so dont need that on a MP3 player. An MP3 player is just that, it playes music, if you want a radio or a camera get one.
If that works for you, then whatever floats your boat..Most buy products based on user reviews or prefer purchasing from a name brand co...Again, to each their own..Not everyone likes Apple products..I have an ipod and a Sansa player..And I actually enjoy both..
This should have been posted on the portable audio player or the ipod forum. Gomar, what you bought is probably a Chipod. They are NOT a good bang for the buck. They normally die during a sync so if I were your I would think long and hard what I wanted the sync one last time. It will probably die between 1 and 10 syncs. I am all for buying a named brand cheap. Chipods are not named because they are sold as damaged goods. They are rejects for the China market and are probably sold for about 1 USD when bought in lots of 100. When it dies you can exchange it for another one but you pay the S&H which more than covers the cost of shipping you a new piece of junk.
S/H for it was $0. I would've said $20+$5s/h if in fact there was s/h. It works just fine thus far. Not as fancy as a real iPod, but it does the job. It's like a Jag vs. Chevy; it gets you from point A to point B. Now about viewing photos, videos on iPods? WHY?
B/C that's they're preference..Remember, to each their own!.. If you're content with your cheaPod, then by all means, enjoy it..
If it suits your needs then that is good. I am also a basic guy. I only listen to music on mine but sometimes I watch movies on a plane. I do like play lists, organized by artist/album/title and I want to last a few years. Sometimes I want to play an artist or an album. I bought a Chipod a few years back and I bet they are better but still a large potion of the mobile audio player forum posts are people wanting help to fix their Chipod. I bought my wife a 16 Sansa this year for $100 with a 2 year warentee and shipping. That was a good deal. I hope you feel the same in 9 months.
I had a iPod Touch and it's cool. But of course you do not mind if the music if sounds good, you can buy MP3 player at US$10~20. I bought that for my cousins as Christmas Gifts and they loved them. Very nice items at that price I think. - Gindart.
I suspect if you swap out the ear buds the sound will be about the same. The reason you don't buy Chipods is they can die after a few syncs not because they do not sound good. They also do not have many features that most of us expect. You pay a premium for the Apple logo. The Sansa View is the nicest flash player on the market if you just want to play music and watch videos. The biggest differences between that and a Touch is it does not play apps which is the only con. The pros are it has better hardware and software for playing music. I have used an ipod for almost 5 yrs I know my ipods. After using ipods for many years the controls on a Sansa View can be felt in the first few seconds of use. It will play any format music and does not have all the wacky security to try to make you buy itunes. Itunes SUCK!
ive tried using an ipod but i honestly have no idea how to put music on one.the music on an ipod sounds ok but i cant really tell the difference between music on an ipod and music on my discman. My discman is a panasonic and plays all mp3s.i was thinking about buying an ipod but they are very expensive.i think i will stick with my discman for now.
xboxdvl2, putting music on a portable is easy enough that and music quality are not reasons to upgrade. If you want to upgrade buy in the ear buds. You can buy some for under 20 USDs. The make really does not matter nor how much you pay. All the in the ears are Bose knockoffs. If you check out the stats the fidelity are all about the same. You upgrade for size and features you want.
