ARRRGGGHHHH! Please help guys this is driving me mad! I just ordered a dvd drive off Ebuyer while I was at work and it should have been here on Thursday. It wasn't. So I went to check the status of my order on their website while I was at home and the website won't load! I just get a white screen and it crashes! I asked my friend to try and access it from his computer and he can get in fine! I can also access the website from work. I just can't access it from home! I can however access every other bloody website on the internet from home just not Ebuyer! WTF! Why can't I access just this one bloody website!!

Just a few more details. I am using broadband 1/2 mb connection and my provider is Supanet. I am using a Zoom ADSL modem. I have used the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox to access the site. Still no luck! :(

Is there any firewalls or Internet security applications running?

I'll try disabling my firewall and internet security to see if anything changes. But it will be a bit extreme to have to do this to be able to access a website! Plus as I said every other webpage I visit on the internet I can access fine!

I can access the site so it's not a server problem, the only other thing it could really be is the firewall or some sort of Internet security. My firewall has played up b4 by blocking certain websites that i accessed daily, if you can access the site with it turned off then try uninstalling then reinstalling it to see if that helps. What firewall\Internet security are you using?

Just thought I'd point out I can access the American Ebuyer site ok its the UK one that keeps getting a big white screen and looks like its timing out. I haven't had chance to change my firewall or security settings yet. But just to let you know I'm using Windows Firewall, Avast Antivirus and Microsoft Anti Spyware. I have however just tryed to access the site again from my computer at work (where I made the oreder last week) and its timing out here as well!!! Anyone else having problems accessing the UK ebuyer site?

Ya know i think they have changed the URL address, www.ebuyer.com now works for both so there must not be a ebuyer.co.uk URL anymore.

Cheers mate! But I just remembered something I can access the Us one all right from work and infact I just managed to enter the UK one from work (it was so bloody sloooooow though!). I however cannot access either from home US or UK. I will try again when I get home from work just to make sure and if it still doesnt work I will disable my firewall and antivirus and if it STILL doesnt work I will kill myself.

you could always try www.svp.co.uk or dabs or other sites too. i went off ebuyer after having grief with them selling fake Taiyo Yuden media. still use them for the odd thing, just not media anyway

they mjust have been redoing their website cus i just did www.ebuyer.com and it's got uk prices listed. they are cowboys half the time so unless you've ordered something already i'd seriously look for another more reliable site such as svp.co.uk

lol. they are a big firm but sometimes that's half the problem. i spent months fighting them cus i couldn't get a review of FAKE media they were selling, to appear on their site. they kept telling me the web developers were working on a fix but about 3months later they said the media i was unhappy with was no longer being stocked. Yeah right!, and i flew in on a westerly breeze. The fakes were Bulkpaq Orange 8x, and i still check back on ebuyer every couple of months in case they start selling them again

i've used Dabs in the past. and www.insight.co.uk
what i sometimes do is try www.kelkoo.co.uk, as it does price comparisons across different sites.

also i use www.overclockers.co.uk sometimes (not the cheapest place though very good).

www.svp.co.uk as i mentioned - they have incredible returns service btw. also you can order up to 10kg of stuff thru them for the same 10kg shipping charge

    and www.scan.co.uk the odd time

can't think of any more at the moment
