Well I'm not into programming or anything but I've noticed that some programs work fine on my external harddrive (WD60gigs) but some don't run correctly or at all? How come? How can I insure that, 1 my programs are installing 100% to my portable drive, and 2 that they will run correctly?
maybe some of the programs you installed in your extenal harddrive has registry entries. so it is possible that those programs will only run on machines where you originally install them.
yeah thats what I heard, if you've ever used trillian messenger they have a site that shows you how to change their program so you can have it on a ex-HD, but at the moment its not up. Is there a way to find out what files are the program's registry files and is it safe to change where they go?
