Hi I've been downloading films for a while now, I would burn them to disk but when I would play them they would look really crappy quality, like a cheap made film, so I bought a HDMI lead for my laptop, so now I download a film for example 'Get Him To The Greek' it's a dvdrip Xvid and although it plays excellent quality on my laptop, when I put it through the tv it totally loses the quality, what am I doing wrong? Is there another way of playing it through the tv without losing any quality?
If you play a commercial DVD movie on the PC and use the HDMI output to the TV is it ok. If it is, then the problem is with the download being compressed to XviD then blown up to fit the TV.
The movie plays great on my laptop but when I put it on the TV with the hdmi lead the quality is bad?
Could try this, If TV has usb port, check the owners manual, and see if it will play avi files. If it will play them. Load movie file to flash drive and use the usb port on the TV to play movie. I play all my avi movies on my Samsung 46 inch that way. My Samsung TV also hooked up vga from pc, and very happy.
well when i cant be bothered burning to dvd or divx i plug my normal (long) tower to monitor lead in to my 42" tv you should get the same results as watching it thru your monitor to your tv. If you go for this option then shut your machine off plug leads in and power back up that way the pc goes with the tv resolution instead of your pcs monitor. hope this helps
