I have a question and I figure the collective genius of afterdawn can tell me why we have dvd-5's for blanks but movies come in dvd-9. Is this the stupid attempt by the movie industry to stop us from backing up dvd's? Now I know there are dual layer disks that are coming out that are dvd-9. I guess my question is that I have burned disks for years and never really logically thought about this....any ideas?

If you ever try to back up an older movie, you will find that not all dvd's are dvd9.

yeah, nowadays people have gotten smarter and are making hot dogs and buns in packages of 8 like they should've done in the first place. Man, we've come a long way since the caveman ;)

Recordable DVD media is not really intended to copy movies to. They are so you can save your "Precious Memories" (ie camcorder stuff).just ask the RIAA.

yeah, and 6' bongs are meant for tobacco use only. But ever try to puff some tobacco out of one of those, you'd probably die.
