ok my ram is clocked at 533mhz I have it overclocked to 671mhz without even a fan blowing to it, its runing stable since I have encoded videos and played games but y can I overclock this high ex was it mislabeled and instead its a 667mhz ram? cause ive heard people that just by oc it by 20mhz they start to crash and stuff pic: http://img219.imageshack.us/my.php?image=untitledsw4.jpg
It happens, its probably good RAM. high quality stuff should overclock that much. It's got high latencies (4-4-4-12) so it should easily achieve that speed. Nice work!
im gonna buy some more ram another stick of 512 ddr2 at 533mhz samsung so do u think it should also go that far
I added the 512 stick yesterday but it was damaged so i replaced it today and its overclocked and runin stable I was gonna buy another 1 today but he only had those 2 but he said hes gonna change it and he will have it by tomorrow
So what you want three? Uh-uh, not three, that will seriously hamper your performance, stick with 2 or 4, but preferably just the two. If you want more RAM you really want 2x1GB not 4x512MB, the latencies increase when you have more than 2 sticks installed.
I have 3 now so 1.5gb im gonna have 4 512 sticks dont tell me that the its gonna go slow cause that is bs i had 2*1gb b4 and 4*512 and 4*512 was better in gaming (thats what i do the most) and if u insist on the ram going slow it sure can beat ure pc3200 any day
It can, I'm not arguing so don't get stroppy with me or you can look for help elsewhere. 4 good 512MB sticks will indeed perform better than 2 1024MB sticks, but the fact of the matter is, using 4 sticks does induce extra latency. Three sticks is the worst because then they don't even run in Dual channel mode. That IS a hit on performance.
