When I have a movie on my computer and i want to burn it to a CDR the movies sais it is only 650MB, when i add the video file to Nero and start to burn it sais the movie is way over the disk size it sais the movie is now like 850MB making it more than one 700MB CDR. I was wondering why and if i could fix it.I could only think that it may be because Nero creates menus and such? and any good burning VCD programs maybbe that dont make a 600MB movie a 800MB movie. or am i going to just have to cut the movie into 2 seprate parts.
I take it your trying to burn an AVI file to a CD? To answer your question, to be put on a CD a video has to be in a VCD or SVCD format (mpg1 or mpg2). There is some overhead but not 200MB worth of menus and stuff. It has more to do with the conversion to the mpg format. It is usually a larger size file then AVI. Hope this helps a little.
