Why does the computer go into a finishing mode after only a minute or so after the write cycle begins?

I have both ICOPYDVDs2 and XCOPYPLATINUM and have had no problems backing up a DVD until a couple of days ago. However when I attempt it now it reads the decrypted file ok but after about a minutes time in the write cycle it goes quickly into the finishing process and gives me another coaster. For anything less than 4.7GB Nero6 works just fine and I'm puzzled as to what has happened. Any help would be appreciated. I'm using a Sony DVD RW DRU-700A external DVD drive.

is this happening w/ all movies or just one title. I am not to overly familiar w/ such programs do they rip the dvd to your hd or do you use another program for this maybe the file has been corrupted somehow please give more details so we can better assist you.

This has happened with all movies I've tried lately with these two programs but does not happen with Nero6 if it less than 4.7GB. I can't use Nero for the larger files because it does not compress and I'm not sure how to use DVD Shrink. I'm not interested in pursuing that avenue but would like to continue using ICOPYDVD's and XCOPY Platinum. I appreciate your response.

To further answer your question I use DVD Decrypter to decrypt my DVD and then one of the other two programs to copy it. It rips to a temporary file on the hard drive and then writes to a blank disc.
