When I burn a DVD with Decrypter or Image Burn,I can only burn at 1X or 2X speed, anything more and I get the good old Power Calibration Errors. It doesn't matter whos media I'm using. Does this sound more like a problem with the burner (NEC ND3550A) or computer or programs or what I had for breakfast? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.Thank you.

It's Definitely what you had for breakfast... I've had that problem before and it was the first warning sign that my burner was going out, the only way to verify this would be to attempt to burn with other programs and see if you get the same problem, though it may not happen all the time. Try updating the firmware on the drive, and start pricing replacements...

Firmware has been updated already.I tried it with Nero and it would not burn a 4X.Then I tried a 2X and it worked. So it seems no matter what I use it will only burn at 1X or 2X,anything more and it's a frizbee.

Sounds to me then like your drive is dying, just look around for a replacement asap, but at least it will still burn while you're waiting.
