    hi guys,

    i just chipped my ps2 v14.

Everything boots fine except that the "Playstation 2" logo has a grey rectangular background and the words are grey too, instead of white words and black background.

what could be the problem? which points or area of the mother board have to be checked?

could it be because i ran these 2 wires under that chip on the above picture? its the first time i did this and the first time i get this logo problem.

    thanks in advance.

it is possible, but i have never installed one to know what problems that could cause. This is what it should look like.

do you have any other problems? Do the back up games load?
if so i would not be too worried about the color of the start up screen.

I run wires under the legs like that all the time and haven't had any problems like what you're saying. Which chip did you use?

i use mars action a750. its the 2nd time i use this chip, the first time had no problem.

i've used many other chips like magic 3.1, modbo, dms4 pro, nh9, mars III and none had this logo problem.

I will try to loosen up the wires tomorrow and see if it helps. if it doesnt then i'm guessing its a bad flash on the chip =|

Well if everything else is working ok, then, like grandpa always said, "why fix something that ain't broke". Although I do understand you not being able to just leave that alone. I'd but the heck out of me, too.

ya man everything works fine but looking at the distorted logo gives me a bad feeling. after all i've always made things work perfect.

i sold alway my very new v12 with mars chip and comsoft slim fix which worked perfect, and im a little dissapointed this v14 has distorted logo , although the lens bug has already been solved =|

This happens to me too. But I'm using HDA to boot games. Only it has white and grey colors.

I keep thinking to myself that the ps2 is messup.

Hm.... Sometimes normal games doesnt show white and grey colors. sometimes it does when I'm using hd or swapdisc.

Davbere from Teammodders.com does them, and hs installs
are just flawless looking. I wish i had those soldering skills :)

wow thats neat, literally!i dont think i bridged any point because im very cautious not to let the solder drip. i also check the soldered points for continuity. anyway divineo asked me to send the chip back, so i guess its the chip's problem ;)

i noticed they use same wires for 3.3 and GND. i thought it was supposed to be thicker? is it safe to use the same wires (awg #30) now for 3.3v and GND?

Hello guys, my name is Eddie and i'm from Argentina. I realize too that when I use some games on my PS2 Slim 75001 with a chip Mars Pro 806 GM, the Playstation 2 logo appears always in grey color (only with some games, at the moment just 2)... I recently bought the console a few days ago, and i just want to know if it is possible that the error is for those games.
    Regards for all!

its not the games, its the chip. mars chips do not have logo correction for v14 consoles. they have yet to update their codes, and i doubt they have already done so. been a long time since i last checked them out.

bottomline, its the chips's logo correction not working but not a problem with playback.

So, mars pro don´t have any correction for it... Besides the logo color, can my ps2 suffer any other problem caused for this?
What do you think about mars pro chips??

    Best regards!

dont worry about mars chips, they are good. however they should be cheap, about USD15 or so excluding delivery. if it comes up to USD20 or more, you might want to consider Duo 3 for its reputation, or matrix infinity / dms 4.

however there is mars-816 u might want to check it out.

i'd say for USD15-20, its mars chip for me.

Thank you again!! Here in Argentina it´s hard to get a mars 816... The one that i see around is the 815, that´s why i´m worry about it... i think the 815 is a good chip, the only difference i think is the Dual Layer reading thing with the 816...REGARDS ONCE AGAIN!!!
