Hello, I am new to burning vidoe dvds.. I capture video from video camera through firewire by using Ulead Video Studio 9.0 in Mpeg format Or by using Ulead Movie Factory 4.0 in Mpeg format too..

And I am using Nero Burning 7.0 to make a video dvd, BUT before burning Nero starts Transcoding of all the video files...Why????

Its take very long time about 3 to 4 hours to burn a video dvd...

In which format I have to capture video form movie camera????????
So Nero did not Transcode the video file and burn video dvd in very short time...

    Need your help

There are three commonly used types of mpeg. There is mpeg 1 which is used for VCD. mpeg 2 that is used for SVCDs. Mpeg 4 is used for dvds.

Nero also adjusts the encoding to allow user to get more than the recommended time a dvd (maybe cd too not sure).
