I am capturing a TV program from a Digital Sattelite Reciever using a TV/Capture Card on my Laptop. I then burned the 1hr 45 min program (4.25GB) using Nero onto a DVD (Pal). However, the quality is poor (Like broken Mosaic bits) and Poor low resolution Color shades are visible. How can I have high quality copy ? Can the quality of the Capture Card be a suspect here ? Please help.

The TV Tuner / Capture Card is by EPRO, and is called Honestech TVR 7012USBTV.
I am not sure of the Capture software. I will have to check that and let you know. As for the file capture.... I capture it as Mpeg.

And as for the compression.... I dont know exactly but I dont think I am compressing it. How can I know if I am compressing it ?

Yes, I think while the capture is being done, I do notice the poor quality of the picture on the screen. I can seen the poor color (the minute mosaic, hazy kind of colouring).

I assume your input to your card is pal check to make sure that your pal format is correct pal B pal D etc you sould be trying to capture at 720X576 res and 25fps
