I have been looking for a simple way to create slide shows with titles/captions because most of the software that I have tried is not that easy to use for the uniniated. Today I came across Photo Story 3 and downloaded it and it worked like a dream. Then I tried to get my Nero6 Reloaded to accept it and it just refused. Do you know what I need to do? Many thanks. I am asking how I can get Nero 6 Restored to accept a slide show that I built on PhotoStory 3. I opened up "Nero 6 Restored." "Photo and Video." "Capture Video." "Make slide show." "DVD Video." "Browse and add project." Found the project and clicked open and a box came up saying, "Unable to insert C:\Documents and settings\Brian M Leahy\Desktop\PhotoStory 1.WP3 When I opened the file and clicked on save the following came up. File Name: PhotoStory 1. WP3 Save as Type: Photo Story 3 Project Files (* .WP3 I hope that is enough information because I'm afraid that I am a rank amateur so thank you very much for your help.
What nero is looking for there is a project made with nero. The project made with nero would be a video. The photo story project is basicly a cab called wp3. Inside the wp3 file is the photos, music and an xml file. I was hoping photo story was making some type of video file. No such luck, it seems to be making a slideshow for the computer not for a stand alone player. So nero can not use it. For more info on this look here http://www.windowsphotostory.com/Guides/Inside-the-wp3-format/wp3-photos-story-format.aspx There is also a guide there on how to prepair in photo story for puting on dvd with sonic here http://www.windowsphotostory.com/Guides/Photo-Story-3-DVD/how-to-create-a-Photo-Story-3-DVD.aspx but if you do the process right you will be able to use whatever software you like to make the dvd. In the case of nero it would be vision.
All I was looking for was a piece of software that I could use to build a slideshow with subtitles, place it on a DVD and view it on a TV but it would appear that in an age when men can be sent to the moon and back this is not possible and I find this frustrating. Firstly I find that although there is plenty of software about that can create slide shows much of it does not facilitate the use of subtitles. I have Adobe PhotoShop Elements 2. Serif PhotoPlus 10. Serif AlbumPlus 4 and of course Windows Movie Maker and PhotoStory. Then I find that Microsoft created Windows Movie Maker and PhotoStory and when I first looked at them they looked good but in the form Microsoft send them out it is not possible to get them onto a DVD. Any idea where I go for something that does not require high skill levels?
Sorry, I truely don't. I was hoping you found one there. I have not got a chance to read much of that site yet. What I do for slideshows that I want subtitles or much like subtitles telling info about the pic while music or whatever plays in the background. Is I use paint shop pro baloon style text to each pic before I start on the slideshow. That gets time consumeing and teadious but the out come is pretty good. Then I use nero to make a slideshow as video be it dvd or svcd.
As I said when I found Photo Story 3 and downloaded it worked like a dream but then the idiots at Microsoft make it impossible to send it to a DVD burner.
The WP3 file is your project file. If you continue on in Photo Story you can save the slideshow you created in Photo Story 3 as a WMV file. This can be converted into a DVD by any authoring program. I would not recommend the DVD option listed in PS3. Go to papajohn's website and use one of his profiles. This page will direct you there and gives you instructions on how to put your new profiles into PS3: http://www.windowsphotostory.com/Guides/Photo-Story-3-DVD/how-to-create-a-Photo-Story-3-DVD.aspx You can also purchase a Sonic plug-in from Sonic or Microsoft which will allow you to burn directly from PS3. It's about $20. I hope this helps.
