I used TMPGEnc to encode a widescreen movie into vcd. The files play fine on computer after encoding and after being burned with nero 6.0. Upon playing it in my Panasonic DVD-S25 progressive scan dvd player the movie is not quite widescreen. I burned once with an encode of 4:3 aspect ratio and I got a movie that was at the top of the screen with a large area of black underneath. I tried again with an encode of 16:9 and the picture has the same problem only now there is a smaller picture with black bars along the side. Can someone please let me know how to (encode or burn) get a centered widescreen to play. I found some threads with similar problems but no answers. Thanks for any help.
