Im trying to make a VCD from a AVI file.
I am using Nero to make the vcd...is there a certain option I have to choose to make the VCD in widescreen...because Ive tried it on two differed AVI files...both did not come out as widescreen.
When I play the AVI files using WMP it is widescreen???

    Any help will be apperitiated.
    Thanks in advance.

I don't know what software you are using, but in TMPGEnc, which converts .avi into .mpg (which can be easily made compatible with VCD) has options to make screen sizes almost any way you want. You can donwload the software from this site and it is free for VCD (30 day trial on SVCD and DVD)

Good luck and let me know if this helps, or if you are using other software.

Well, I use DVDDecrypter to decrypt the dvd into vob files...then I use FlaskMpeg to make a Divx file.

TMPGEnd can be used to make that VCD from your .avi, although making it into DivX first will worsen the quality. You could consider ripping using Smartripper, or DVD Decrypter, then using DVD2AVI, which does not really worsen quality, then use TMPGEnc to make the VideoCD. This produces good results, which can be played on any machine (usually!)
