Guys I need insight and some help.. My console was banned from xbox live and I've done some google searching and confirmed 100% that it was. Knowing that my console will not be able to access live again, I unplugged the network cable for a month. Now, I've decided to do some video streaming from my PC to my xbox so I plugged the ethernet cable again and restored the network settings to factory defaults. Then when I signed in to my gamertag, it connected to xbox live and I can access the marketplace and everything again... I was really clueless to what has happened knowing that when your console is banned it will be completely condemned from xbox live..

Now my only issue is regarding installing games to hdd although I never had hdd before.. When I try to install games to HDD, a message pops up saying "Installation of this game isn't supported!". Is this really the message that comes up when you don't have HDD installed? or this message is shown only to those banned xboxes?

    Thanks in advance guys ^_^

I've seen a few people posting about this on different forums, they're usually rebanned after a few hours.

I've been playing on xbox live for a week now so I guess I was really unbanned from xbox live. But the sad thing is install to HDD functionality is more important to me than playing on xbox live... Can you tell me on what message pops up when say you try to install a game although you don't have HDD connected and your console is not banned from xbox live.. thanks

The only reason why I go online is to update my gamerscore and dashboard and I don't even download demos. I'm only concerned of how many games I play and how I can finish them in single player.

Is there anyway that I can uncripple my box in a software method? Thanks

Nah the only way I know of that uncripples you hdd is this

It includes a bit of soldering and whatnot, but I did it wasn't that bad. And now I have all my hdd features back! =D

All the parts and whatnot from radioshack ran me up around 15$

Thats interesting that you unbanned now....I wonder...>.>

    edit:
Nope! Still banned, ah whatever. Not like I lost anything that I hadn't already lol

Thanks whaevr. And btw, I don't have any backup of my NAND or anything from my xbox since day 1. Will I still be able to do this uncrippling? Thanks

nixau sorry for asking, but just to be 100%, can u take a pic of being connected to live, and then of the install feature not allowed, it'd rly help for me believing this to be 100% true

Just a warning for banned people who want to check if they are still banned and have done the NAND Corruption restore- if you check on your XBL status in the dashboard it will add back the corrupting data. So then you would have to perform the restore again.

Had to learn this the hard way heh. Just had to erase the NAND, flash in the NAND I ripped before, and then add in the nandzero.bin to erase the corrupting data.

I wish there was a way to uncrippled the hdd without having to solder. I haven't soldered before so I would probably mess something up

Yeah you don't need a backup of it. I didn't have any backups of my Nand prior to doing this hack.
