wierd/scratchy noises from movies on pc

    I'm new at this and have gotten some good movies on my pc but it has wierd and scratchy noses that make it irratating to watch. what do i do. I have a sound blaster 16 card and 350mhz pc with 128 mb of ram 160gb 7200rpm 8mb cache harddrive

    You mean on all the files or just some?

    im haveing the scratchy loudish noise on all files it seems? but iv cut the filer size down and tried playing them in smaller sizes they still don't work

    Check your soeakers are properly connected!

    everything is connected properly. But i only have a soundblaster 16pci card?

    hmm well i wouldnt know much about sound cards to be honest, this is more something to ask in the audio forum i'd say!

    ok it's not my sound card. My sound card seems to be good quality. i think i need maybe some codecs, but i need new ones i dunno. I havew alot of codecs

    Ye it could be a stupid codec conflict!! always trouble like that!!
