I have a dsl internet connection (ethernet, not wireless i hate wireless) but we do have a wireless router that isnt compatible with the Nintendo DS WiFi. If i bought the WiFi USB Connector that does create a wifi connection for my ds using my computer's internet connection....right? Just making sure before I go out and buy 1 and find out that it doesn't do what I want it to do.
Yes, you have the basics correct. Why isn't your router compatible? The DS runs WEP so if you are running WPA it can't get on, but you could drop the security down when you want to connect, or put the router on super low broadcast power so its signal practicaly can't make it out of the room.
I think it was on the official nintendo website that had a list of compatible/incompatible wireless routers. My wireless router does have WEP but for some reason some the ds just cant find some wireless routers. Im not to smart in networking so Im not eactly sure why the ds cant find the wireless router.
Hm. Okay. Learn something new, I guess. I would have thought the DS could talk to any standards compliant wireless router, unless it does something stupid and only speaks G so it isn't backward compatible to B. Good luck getting the WiFi dongle set up.
ok umm for some reason my ds can pick up my wirless router now....before I was trying everything but my ds would not pick up the wireless router. i didnt even do anything...it just started working
