Hello, Im just wondering if i am able to connect to the internet in my house using my DS. I have comcast cable internet and i have a Netgear router. Arent all routers Wifi applications?
You should be able to connect. I have a Linksys router that was giving me a little trouble at first. I had my router set to not announce the network name and the DS wouldn't find it. I then set it to announce and input the DS's mac address and it was good to go.
Oops. You mean browse the internet with the DS or connect to the Nintendo WiFi Connection with DS games to play online with them?
play games online. Do i have to mess with my router or mess with settings for the ds to recognize it?
nope, DS will automaticly configure itself, but just know that if you have WEP encryption (WPA isn't supported) you need to enter it manualy.
Well i have the ds with me right now. I have the new super mario brothers. when i go to play mkario vs luigi online, it brins up a message that says searching for other player and it hangs untill i press cancel. When i click on the download DS stuff from the internet thing, that also hangs and doesnt bring up another window until i hit cancel. I dont think im getting any signal? I have a netgear G router with comcast cable. Am i doing something wrong?
if you are playing New Super Mario Bros then you dont need a wireless router. you need people with a DS near you to download from your DS.
NSMB is not an online game, the only games you can play online have a blue circle on the box that says "nintendo wifi connection". Go to http://www.nintendowifi.com to see the games that are playable online.
hmmm i see, well i dont have any other games right now to test if i get a connection. How can i test without a game. What about that option for pictochat, is that online? or what about the option to download software from the internet? when i click on those, nothing happens, it hangs at the screen that says "looking for softyware available for download"
DS Download Play is to download from other DS systems that are around you (like from a friend). There are no other options for internet connectivity except for the games listed at nintendowifi.com (and homebrew, which I'm not going to bother to explain). Get one of those games at nintendowifi.com to play over the internet, the end.
k thanks oops sorry, one more thing. What about the pictochat thing? it always say zero out of 16 people in every single chat. am i connected?
ok i think im goin to get mario vs donkey kong wifi. I looked at that site you posted, i might have to change some things around on my router
