When I inserted a backup PAL Wii music game in my PAL Wii (modded with wiikey) it updated the wii.

The console will no longer play all my previously backed up games which used to work fine (also the wii music game which caused the problem doesnt work).

I get the message to turn off the wii and refer the the operations manual.

    Original games work fine.

    Please help.

    Cheers,

    Nick

    What firmware are you on?
If you're on 3.3 (or 3.4) you use the homebrew channel and Waninkoko's Downgrader to reinstall the system firmware.

If you're on 3.2 or lower, update to 3.3 by going to the Wii Shop Channel.

If you need the homebrew channel and are on 3.3, you're out of luck.
If you need it and you're on 3.2, rent an original Twilight Princess disc and use it to install the Homebrew Channel.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi. Thanks for your reply.

I am on version 3.3E and I don't have the homebrew channel.

Is this the end of the line for me?

    Hi.

Some luck. I managed to get the homebrew channel installed. How do I now use the Waninkoko's Downgrader you mention. Is there a tutorial anywhere.

Also, it seems that only my later backup games that have had to be Patched do not work since the update (eg SM Galaxy and Mario Kart).

    Thanks again,

    Nick

I know.... I did it.... It works :)

    Google what you need :)

The downgrader works, you need to have an Internet connection for it to work.

    You need the files/folders cIOS_rev3-Installer, cIOS_Downgrader and IOS37-64-v2070.wad file.

Run the installer first, the downgrader after.

Fab Thanks for all your help. Am now returning to v3.2

Whats the best way now to get wii music running without letting it do the update again?

    Cheers,

    Nick

Now My Mario Kart disk which used to work fine (after it was patched) gives me a message that a system update is required in order to play the disk.
I have returned to v3.2 using your procedure.

How do I get these games working again without updating. Sorry but I am now very confused!
