I will be flashing my xbox this weekend and I am really confused as to which of the two firmwares i should upgrade 1.5.1 or 1.6 ixtreme.I currently have 1.5 Ixtreme(lite on drive). The thing is that I dont stealth patch my games since i dont care about Xbox Live.So will the non stealth games work on 1.6 ixtreme or 1.5.1 cause I heard 1.6 has strict stealth pass check. please let me know.
Most methods when ripping XBOX 360 games will pull the stealth info for you. The one exception is the wxripper method. If you use a Kreon drive or XBOX 360 0800 drive, you will have stealth in your games. The only difference between iXtreme 1.51 and 1.6 is checking for the PFI (wave 1,2, and3). iXtreme 1.51 does not check for the PFI, there for will boot any Wave 1, 2, and 3 game. It does check for the SS and DMI. 1.6 has strict stealth checking and will check for the SS, DMI, PFI CRCs etc. 1.6 does have the option of "One Shot Boot Mode" in which ALL stealth checks are disabled and a game with no stealth what so ever will boot. To enable this, you burn the activate ISO to the first layer of a Dual Layer disc. Insert into the 360, give it about 30 seconds, eject, and then insert any non-stealthed game. So basically, I'm sure whether you are downloading your games or copying, your game has stealth.
The thing I if download i might as well check for stealth patch but if i buy these back up copies im not sure whether they have stealth patch it not. As I said I dont use XBL,I just want games to play stealth or not stealth so which version of ixtreme should i flash. PS: what does burning the first layer of dual layer mean?
You can scan the backup copy through ABGX and it will tell you what is present. When burning the activate.iso, you will be burning it to the first layer of the dual layer disk. I don't think you have to do anything special, just select the ISO and burn.
