I have backed up almost 300 dvds using shrink + Nero Express with various media(honestly whatever was on sale) At first I was lost...found afterdawn.com and because of all you highly intelligent peeps(much more so than I) figured out how to do this thing. Or so I thought! All of a sudden in the last two weeks I have made a grand total of (get this) 35 coasters! Didn't do anything different it just stopped working! so I unistalled nero and shrink, redid them both I got 1 back up completed but I had to try it once then do it again from the files that were created. Now everyone I try acts normal goes through the whole process says it completed sat. but either one of two things happen... Disc won't play at all or it burns about an inch into disc and no more although it takes the entire time and says complete. Have tried many many different media in this time all the same results.
PLEASE if anyone has any idea help me out!

I looked at your burn log and noticed these items:

This is an old Nero version...

    Nero API version: 6.0.0.21
    Using interface version: 6.0.0.0

When items like this crop up....

Insert the disc to write to.
(Medium in drive: unknown. Medium required by compilation: DVD+R/RW.)

you end up with messages like this:

    1:49:56 AM #19 SCSI -1135 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1371
SCSI Exec, HA 1, TA 0, LUN 0, buffer 0x01390000
    Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR)
    HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK)
    TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND)
    Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)

So just to start off on the right foot, regardless of past success, get an updated version of Nero.

    http://www.nero.com/us/631940677298374.php

And while you are at it, get these utilitys and try 'em out:

    http://www.nero.com/en/631938356417810.html

Apparently your current media is not being read by Nero and/or your burner. Try and use some Ritek or Verbatim DVD+R media. See if that helps. What did you try and burn? It was +R, right?

Have you tried a system restore?

    Cheers,
    Frank

When I first turned on my pc this morning I tried the same copy again, while reading to see if there was any reply to my post and it worked fine first try without doing anything! Could this be an overheating problem? Does that happen? Thanks!
