If not please tell me what i should get so i can keep my vonage connection and still play wirelessly on the xbox 360?

Its also possiable to pick up an old wireless router and hook that up to your 360 and use that as your wireless nic if money is scarce.

Regarding Steimy:Does the Linksys - 802.11g Wireless Gaming Adapter work on the xbox 360 in place of the xbox wirelesss network adapter? and i cannot use the linksys WRT54G as you showed in the first link because i need the phone line ports for my Vonage phone. that is why i need this router:

Regarding thorn3562:Do you use the setup i mentioned or the setup steimy mentioned please specify?

yes, the linksys gaming adapter works with both the 360 and original xbox. It is an Xbox Live compatible component. But i am not sure about that router as it is not on the Xbox Live compatible list. So if the box does not have an Xbox Live symbole on it then it may not work with Xbox Live.

Is Vontage your only ISP choice? And what speed is the connection. You will need a deceny speed to use Xbox Live. Mine is a 5MB cable connection.

Or you may be in luck if Vontage gives you a modem that has the phone line in for your connection, and an ethernet out port to run to the router. Then you could get a normal router like i listed above and it will work for sure. My cable connection runs to a modem, then the ethernet runs from that to my router.

What cable are you talking about? When i say i have a cable connection it means cable, like cable TV. It comes through the local cable company. Same type of coaxal cable that plugs into a TV if you get cable TV.

Cable for internet is fast and pretty darn reliable. But it is also no cheap. Most companies charge about $45 a month for a 5MB connection. DSL is cheaper but with DSL your speed depends on factors like how close you are to the main station your getting your connection from. With cable you always get what you paid for. And dialup these day is pretty much useless, especially for online gaming.

If you have a link to the Vonage plan you plan on getting post it. I would just like to see what they are offering you and what you get.

The linksys phone wireless router will work with live...

You can use either the Linksys gaming adapter or the Microsoft one...
