*******will the psp warn you before updating???*******

i have heard some people that got ""accidently"" updated from a previous version firmware into one of the newones... my question is that before the psp updates the firmware and screws up my 1.50 will it warm me or ask me before hand?

 

Well.. I don't think it will. It won't just automatic update. It's something you have to do manual.

well right now i have a 1.50 and i dont want it to change becuase i want to play homebrew but if i dont do any kind of network related things will it update or...?

no, you have to manually click the update option for this to happen. It doesnt matter any way, the chip has just been released

 

Just trick your PSP into thinking that it's a higher firmware than it really is so you'll never update accidentally or anything.

 

What the hell does that mean Thirst? Even with devhook, some games give u the option of updating when you use devhook. Cant avoid that.

 

You can use WAB Version Changer to make your PSP say that it's got firmware 5.76. That way when you pop in a UMD that requires 2.6, it'll say, "You already have a later software installed. There is no need to update." and it won't let you update it since it thinks you have a firmware higher than that.

 

LOL thats a cool way to screw with your buddies heads, but wont do anything for you other than that.

 

x-flash has an option where u can set it 2 any firmware version u want. so it would be more amusing 2 watch reactions if u have 3.00 which is more beleiveable

no x-flash isnt completely pointless. it is a decent app generally. changes backgrounds boots etc. they just have the odd pointless feature

 

Never heard o x-flash. Guess its another app i need, trying to fill all 100 gigs of my hdd with pointless stuff lol, this will fit nicely into my collection

Yea, just don't tell them. It's highly doubtful that you'll even get a 1.5/2.0 from a major retailer anymore.
