Will VHS Tape erase at airport?

    Do I need to worry about VHS tapes getting erased while going through airport security? I'll be travling back from somewere with many of them soon.

    Have the security do a hand visual inspection instead of x ray if possible. Vhs is magnetic, God only knows what the scanners do to the tapes.

    So check it out or you might get an unpleasant surprise. Make sure you have proof of how much they cost or it can come down to customs to put a value on them... and it can be arbitrary.


    X-ray machines shouldn't do them any harm... but if they are using induction scanning for metal objects (anti gun things) they will be damaged.
