I have not been able to convert .avi files to .vob files lately. I get an error message from WinAvi that says... " WinAVI.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Anybody else having this problem? I started using ConvertX to DVD but that is slow and DVD santa gives me the same error report has WinAvi...Any other suggestions on why the software may not be working? Thanks for any help
Most often WinAvi will error as that if there is a codec problem. You can re-install WinAvi and your Xvid/Divix codecs as well as AC3 codec, too. That should get it going without error again. There are some video using software that can cause codec problems from install/uninstall with them that will effect other programs causing Xvid/Divix codecs problems. Hope this helps. I am a big fan of WinAvi and have seen it error as that with fixing it as above said.
Download 'GSpot', drag your input file to it and let it tell you if you have the required codec installed. http://www.headbands.com/gspot/download.html
