winavi and the rest .......????

    i have mr and mrs smith in 2 parts on my comp i try to convert them both into a dvd (Vob's) nut it keeps giving me errors and wont do it i have also tried nero and dvd santa has any1 else had this problem before and does any1 now how i can get them to work in converter program , both parts of the vid are mpegs

    Nope, no problem here.
    I encoded, joined, authored, and burned with no issues at all.
    Of course, I don't touch things like winavi, santa, nerovision, etc.

    This is where these "all-in-one" one-click-wonder tools fall apart.
    Good for quick, easy, avi to dvd, but that's about it.

    If you want to get that split file onto dvd, I suggest you start by joining them in something like Womble mpeg-vcr or wizard. Adjust audio sync if necessary in something like Soundforge or PVAStrumento.
    Demux to elementary streams, and then author with ReJig, or if you want a menu and chapters, try DVDLab or TDA.

    Rooney,
    As I know,maybe you can check your source file,when the mpegs can not be played in Windows Media Player,it may have error.
    Download a k-lite codec package maybe help(http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm).
