i've been around here for a few years and came across a problem i haven't encountered before. i am using winavi to convert .avi's to dvd's and also using it to burn. i have nero 7 ultra installed. i inherited a new dvd player from my mom, a magnavox mwd7006. the first thing i burned for it was the entire first season of sons of anarchy. it played fine. all 3 dvd's i burned. so i started burning movies and none of them will play. they work on my other dvd player but not the mwd7006. all the dvd's have been converted and burned on the same computer with the same software and the same dvd's. (i'm using sony dvd+r) i'm ok with switching software, or whatever i need to do to get this working. i was really confused with why 3 dvd's work but the rest don't, with all the software and hardware being the same.
replikant, First of all, not all dvd players are compatible with burned dvd. esp the old mod of the dvd player even though it is new. So what you need to do is before burning your dvd...always switch to the function in nero 7 dvd-rom. This will do the trick for most of the dvd player to work. Try it out and let me know if it work and you can thank me later.
not sure how this applied to the issue (i did burn one that way and it didn't work either). i have 3 discs that i burned the exact same way that will play fine. same discs and same software set up. but the 5 movies i burned, did not play. came back as invalid disc type.
