I have a wierd issue. I've got WinAvi 6.3 and I'm running the Klite codec pack (full pro). What's goin on is that I cant convert any files to (avi's, divx, xvid, mp4, ect.) to dvd. In the preview window the video is DISCOLORED. Also, when I play dvd's on my computer, the color is discolored. I have no idea what's going on. when I encode with TMPGENC to transcode, the video is FINE. I perfer WinAvi because the interface is FASTER, and the options fit me a lot better. Could anybody suggest a codec pack, or group of individual codecs to install instead of the entire pack I have installed?

I personally don't like codec packs.
My PC has installed the Xvid and DivX codecs and opened, so far, 100% of the movies I had my hands on. Since you told you need mainly to convert an AVI to DVD you just need the trial version of DivX, since you need the registered to make DiVX AVIs, not to simply open them.
If you need to make an AVI file you can use Xvid (free)...
Or you have a DVD player able to view DivX files directly and you want to make DivX AVI files from something different? In this case you'll have to register DivX...
