First Id like to say that I've searched many threads on this board and could not locate one that pertained to my type of problem exactly. If by any chance I overlooked a thread with a possible answer you have my most humble apology so here goes. Im using winavi(v 7.6) to convert avi to dvd format and Im burning the files with Nero(v 6.0). Ive been using both softwares for a yr without any problems. I believe i have all codecs and this does not seem to be a codec issue. My problem has been that the avi I've converted using winavi, when burned with nero, results in a dvd that skips/rolls/flips nonstop and has no color. The audio on the other hand is perfect. Id also like to add that I can burn/encode a dvd into my hard drive and burn it with clonedvd with no problems. I've always followed the guides for winavi to the "T" as for as the advanced settings go In winavi I have set the "aspect ratio" and "target format" to auto and as well as the source aspect ratio. If anything I have adjusted the height to 90% like always. Ive had this problem with several movies I have downloaded. Any advise would be helpful guys thank you!
also forgot to mention that the dvd files play on vlc player with no problem so this might be a nero issue but I highly doubt it since I burn regular dvds I rent without a problem.
well how so? I have my settings set to auto as far as pal and ntcs are concerned. Im in the us and understand we use the ntcs standard so if you are saying thats the issue, which i dont understand why, what should I do then? My dvds won't even play on my playstation 2, i get an error on the ps2 saying "Tv mode does not match".
With most software I use (USA) I don't choose AUTO, I choose NTSC. Choosing AUTO means if it's PAL it will remain PAL. Most downloads are 25fps, PAL. Run the AVI through GSpot and check the framerate and see if it's listed as PAL. You could also run one of your converted VOBs through it and see if it says PAL. "Tv mode does not match" sure sounds like a big clue.
