So me and my dad are sharing this comp. We both have our own comps but this is where I burn my DVD's and he checks his e-mail. I am just curious as to why when I install my dvd burning software on my account the programs show up on his "All Programs" list. I thought the purpose of having separate accounts on windows xp home edition is to have all the users who use XP HE files on different account and not on each others desktops and all programs list and things like that. Thanks for the help

The reason is that you have Window XP home.
IF you have Window XP pro, during the installation, it will prompt that you want to create shortcut for you only OR for everyone on PC. Choose for you only, then the shortcuts will create for you only.

    NO.
With the Window xp home, after installing programs, manually delete all shortcuts in your dad account.

    Ok. This may work.

At the beggining of the installation, it will prompt location, shortcuts. Make sure to choose do not create shortcuts at anywhere. After installing, goto program files -> folder of the program just installed -> find the .exe then create a short to your desktop.

This shortcut is for you only. Hope this will help.
